Dairy Producers of New Mexico
President's Letter
Jim Hoffman
July, 2005

I would like to start by thanking Ted Boersma for all of the hard work he has done on behalf of Dairy Producers of New Mexico for the past 6 years. Ted has been a tremendous asset to our organization. DPNM not only has a state-wide presence but we also have a national presence. It is members like Ted and others who have provided the leadership to get us there.

As I understand it, we had another successful annual meeting and trade show in Ruidoso. I was unable to attend this year for the first time, by the way, because of a commitment that I had made to a program called Leadership New Mexico. What I have learned and the relationships that were formed as I attended this program will surely benefit DPNM.

As we begin a new year, let me renew my commitment to DPNM but also that of the Board of Directors, staff and everyone else who has made this organization what it is today.

I would like to remind everyone that everything we do to benefit dairy producers has a price tag. We don’t have 100% participation. We need everyone’s help. Talk to your neighbors and encourage new membership. Members with multiple herds should all be represented. Every cwt of milk is benefited by the efforts of DPNM.

I am hoping for a successful year for all producers. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me or the office.
